The fruit harvests are organized with the help and contribution of a group of volunteers and professionals of RomAltruista who give their time and skills. Freshly picked, the fruit is donated to soup kitchens and food banks. Only a small part of the harvest isĀ sold and placed in different places such as the GAS, farmers’ markets or restaurants and shops that work with local products and buy directly from the producer. The possibility of reaping economic benefits, even though Frutta Urbana is a non-profit, means that through the organisation of activities, the collective can also create jobs.
